Barrett Ballroom/Student Union at San José State University
San José State College of Science alumnus Edward Oates, one of three co-founders of Oracle, has lent his name, expertise and vision to this day dedicated to exploring the dimensions of the cybersecurity threat. SJSU is convening leading experts to highlight the need for a strategic, interdisciplinary approach to workforce development and infrastructure through its planned Center for Security in the Cyber Age. This forum will be of particular interest to representatives of private industry, businesses, government entities, health organizations, security mitigation, academia, and current and future SJSU students.
SJSU President Mohammad Qayoumi is leading an effort, with support from the Bay Area Council, to provide the training and certification critical to developing a Silicon Valley pipeline for new cybersecurity professionals. SJSU will partner with local corporations to offer students scholarships, internships and opportunities to work with the latest technology.
